How to replace the fan for DELL Vostro 1014

       I recently discovered that my DELL Vostro 1014 laptop is hot for a while. The laptop fan does not seem to work. After testing, the internal components of the fan are broken. So decided to do it yourself, the following is the process of replacing the DELL Vostro 1014 notebook fan. In addition, this teardown tutorial also applies to several notebook models, the DELL Vostro 1015, 1018, and 1088.

       Before you officially disassemble the machine, you need to prepare items: a flat-head screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver, one for cleaning tools, grease, and a new fan.

       1, first shut down the DELL Vostro 1014 notebook, then unplug the power connector and remove the battery.

       2. Remove all visible screws on the back of the notebook with a screwdriver and remove the hard disk.

       3, turn the notebook back to the front, open the screen, use a flat-blade screwdriver inserted into the top of the keyboard buckle position, loosen the buckle, the keyboard has been loose, first flip the keyboard, unplug the keyboard cable, remove the keyboard .

       4, remove the keyboard fan, remove the fan before removing the motherboard, remove the motherboard screws to remove the motherboard can be removed, and then unscrew the heat sink fixing screws, remove the fan.

       5, since you have opened the notebook, do not take the opportunity to clean up the dust, use ready-to-clean tools to clean up the dusty parts of the notebook, and then to the notebook GPU, CPU smear new grease.

       6. Reassemble the DELL Vostro 1014 notebook, and follow the reverse steps above to reassemble it step by step. Finally, you can test whether the new fan can work normally.

Disassemble Note:

       1, DELL Vostro 1014 notebook fixed screw specifications for each part is different, please remove the screws after the classification, to avoid confusion;

       2. When cleaning internal dust, do not use liquid to clean, so as to avoid internal circuit short circuit and burn out the notebook motherboard.
